The idea for this site came from planning our own tropical themed wedding back in 2003. Living on the water in Florida, and being do-it-yourselfers, we decided to host the wedding on our property.

Coordinating an island style wedding took a lot of time and research – finding the right menu, caterer, decorations, band etc. at a reasonable price was a challenge in itself, but weeding through the all of the tacky things out there in order to find quality and taste proved to be downright frustrating!

The wedding turned out to be a beautiful success! Our guests continued to talk about the fun they had for weeks after, as well as asking about where we found our beautiful Hawaiian leis, table centerpieces, clothing, and so on. So the idea to put everything online for anyone to find easily is how this site came to being.
